Welcome to Issue 012 of Open Mike. This issue of Open Mike includes six MicroPhone settings documents, all of which are described below.
In This Issue
-------------
This settings document contains information about the articles in this month's issue of Open Mike. The icons at the bottom of the screen represent information choices. Click any of them to display additional information.
The "About…" button gives standard disclaimers and various ways of getting in touch with us, including electronic and conventional mail addresses. If you are interested in contributing to Open Mike, you'll also find the information you need behind this button.
The "We Are…" button explains who Celestin Company is and why we publish this product. Also mentioned are a few of the other products available from Celestin Company.
The "What…" button brings up this table of contents. You probably knew that already.
The "Back…" button displays information about back issues of Open Mike that are currently available. Very little of what appears in Open Mike is timely, so back issues are a good place to find additional information and resources.
The "Mikey…" button shows the Open Mike Editorial. This gives the editor a free forum to air his thoughts and his laundry. Sometimes what you see here will make sense. Other times, you might wonder what was going on in his mind when he decided to put fingers to keyboard. Every once in a while, you might find something so interesting, it warrants being printed and posted on your refrigerator. Then again, some people may think that all of the Open Mike editorials cry for this kind of attention. I hope not.
Functional Literacy II
----------------------
MicroPhone's script language has a wealth of functions, a few of which we looked at last time around. Here is a new handful of functions and some real world uses for them.
Hacker's Hangout
----------------
Haven't you always wanted to take the contents of a text file and write them to another text file, only backwards? Well, even if you've never even dreamed of doing this, here's your chance. This hack will take any size text file and create a mirror version of it.
Snippet Show
------------
Here are some more script snippets to tackle small problems that you might encounter while developing a large suite of scripts.
